Audemars Piguet were official sponsers of the Swiss Defender in the 32nd Americas Cup. Audemars Piguet were confident of team Alinghis success in retaining the prestigious trophy in Europe. It turned out to be a wise move in sponsoring the team again as there second consecutive victory continued to sour the massive growth of the Audemars Piguet brand.
Staying with sport Audemars Piguet launched the limited edition Royal Oak Offshore Shaquille ONeal. These will be released in two stunning versions. The chronograph will be housed in a good sized 48mm stainless steel case baring the red and white colors of the Miami Heat basketball team. The 3 and 2 numerals on the dial have been reversed to mark the number 32 which Shaq wore in his career.
The steel version is being issued in a series of 960 and the white gold model set with 32 diamonds is issued in a series of 96.
