Blancpain Watches
Blancpain watches are a direct result of their passion for watchmaking. With their refusal to manufacture Quartz watches they have a stunning range of mechanical watches that ooze class.
The Blancpain story dates back to 1735 when Jean-Jacque Blancpain made his first watches at a workshop in Villeret. In1815, his great-grandson Frederic-Emile built a factory there and the company stayed in the family for many years; it now belongs to the Swatch Group.
Blancpain prototyped the first automatic winding mechanism in 1926 and was acclaimed in 1989 for having created the world’ slimmest chronograph and the first automatic winding split-second chronograph in the world.
The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms created in 1953, is known to be the first modern diving watch (resistant to 91 meters) and several models were later distinguished for their uniqueness at the time they were created, between 1987- 1989 (the smallest minute-repeater, the thinnest self-winding chronograph, the thinnest flying tourbillon with an 8-day power reserve).
The highly engineered Le Brassus collection best reflects the character of the Blancpain watches while the ‘Villeret’ collection is the symbol of elegance.
The Blancpain collection consists of the Le Brassus, Villeret, Leman, sport and Specialites.
